What is frida’s?
Indulge your inner artist with a couple of hours in front of the easel at a chic Sip n’ Paint worthy of your next special occasion. Frida’s studios are adorned with a luxe lounge, chandeliers and iconic portraits of our namesake; a sophisticated atmosphere to sip, paint and laugh away.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your host at a red carpet entry before taking a seat behind the easel. Over the 2.5 hour session, your talented host will lead the group brushstroke-by-brushstroke through the featured artwork. Don’t forget to bring along your favourite drinks and nibbles to fuel your creativity! By the session’s end, you’ll be left with a unique and stunning masterpiece to take home, you might even surprise yourself…
WHO IS FRIDA?
The name “Freda” has a personal connection to one of our co-founders, Rebecca. Her grandmother Freda Podesta was born in Hobart in 1916. One of her first jobs was just across the road from our first studio at the iconic IXL jam factory in Hobart. Freda Podesta lived her life to the fullest… she loved traveling, was all about having fun and didn’t mind a little “sipping”.
Our name pays homage to Frida and to the inner artist in you that our sip n’ paint will unleash! You’ll be inspired by the painted monobrowed portraits on our walls and our talented artists guiding you through the sessions.
The blending of two Frida’s – The artist and the lover of all things fun – sums up exactly what our studio stands for…….. Fun art!

Whatever you are wearing, we have aprons for everyone to help you keep your whites white and your party dress clean. Having said that, we don’t take any responsibility for spilt paint on clothes….. don’t cry over spilt paint!.
All single bookings are non-refundable, you may, however, reschedule your booking at any time, up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled session, in order to do this please email our team. Any “no show” bookings who have not emailed within the 48-hour period will not be credited for the session.
We highly recommend you book in advance to ensure you secure your preferred date and time. If you are coming with friends we have a “name of group” section in our booking section in which we can ensure you are all sitting together.
No, we are BYO beverages and nibbles. We provide all glassware and ice buckets. If you would like to bring along a small platter please feel free to (please avoid hot foods). Please note we don’t provide any food serving ware. If you want the full experience, we have partnered with some amazing restaurants that can prepare platters for your arrival. All these details are in the booking section.
You only need to bring yourself and your favourite beverage. We provide everything to need for the evening including glasses, paints, canvas, and aprons.
We are an over 16 venue. We do however host Family sessions, these will be stipulated on the calendar when booking. Please contact your local studio before booking if you wish to attend with younger guests to our over 16 sessions.
No! Absolutely not. We are all about fun art at Frida's. Your workshop artist will guide you through your painting step-by-step, so you might be surprised at what you leave with!

3. At checkout, enter the gift card code under the Discount or Redemption Code portion of the checkout page and hit apply to omit the cost
Yes! We offer family-friendly sessions where your children can come paint alongside the whole family. These sessions are alcohol-free. Nonetheless, you can certainly bring along your favourite nibbles and non-alcoholic beverages.
Our adult classes range in pricing, between $59-$80 depending on the featured session. Our kids/teens classes start at $35.00. Please head into your studio booking calendar, select your preferred session and you will be informed of the price.
